What Firesale collects, why, who we share it with, and the control you have. In plain language, on purpose.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, for sign-in and notifications.
  • Item photos: the pictures you upload of things to sell.
  • eBay authorization: OAuth tokens that let us list on your behalf, encrypted at rest.
  • Listing data: the titles, descriptions, prices, categories and item specifics we generate.

We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising.

Who we share it with

Limited data flows to the vendors that run the service:

  • eBay receives your listing details (title, description, photos, price, condition, item specifics) to publish and manage your listing.
  • Anthropic processes your photos to identify the item and draft the listing. Photos serve only that request and are not retained by Anthropic.
  • Supabase stores your account, items and notifications.
  • Render hosts our application servers, and Resend delivers our emails.

Advertising measurement

If you allow it, we record which Firesale pages you visit and which steps you complete (signing up, uploading a batch, publishing listings, selling something), and share those events with the ad platforms we advertise on, so we can tell which ads bring people here. Those platforms are Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google, and OpenAI (ads in ChatGPT). Meta and OpenAI each receive a one-way hash of your email address and an internal account identifier. Google receives the signup event and, at that moment, a one-way hash of your email address, which it uses only to match the signup to an ad click; the hash is not reversible into your address. None of them receives your photos, your listings, or your eBay account. We also keep our own copy of the same events, so we can measure ourselves without depending on either of them.

Nothing in this section happens unless you allow it. Visitors in the EU and EEA are asked before anything loads; everyone else can switch it off in Settings at any time. With it off, no advertising code runs and no events are recorded. The rest of Firesale works exactly the same. The Firesale iOS app does none of this at all, whatever your setting says.

How long we keep it

We keep your data as long as your account is active. Deleting it permanently removes your items, notifications and stored eBay tokens.

Your controls

From Settings you can change your email or password, disconnect eBay, or delete your account. Deleting it erases your Firesale data and revokes our access to your eBay account.
